Instrument protective caps

Protective caps for medical instruments subjected to sterilization are essential for maintaining full safety for both facility staff and patients.
They protect personnel responsible for the disinfection and sterilization of medical materials from accidental cuts. At the same time, by effectively protecting the packaging of sterilization packs, they help maintain sterility during storage.
Protective caps are available in various variants, allowing easy matching to the instruments in use.

Instrument protective caps – effective protection against mechanical damage

Instrument protective caps are used to secure sharp instruments during washing, disinfection, and sterilization. In addition to protecting sterilization packaging from damage and personnel from injury, their purpose is also to minimize the risk of damage to delicate tips. Protective caps for the blades of medical instruments intended for sterilization are made of silicone. Its flexibility makes the caps easy to apply and remove. The maximum length of the cap is 25 mm, and the diameter is 10.5 mm. The assortment is available in many different variants, in bulk packages of 25 pieces.

Instrument protection while maintaining effective cleaning and sterilization

Openings in the protective caps facilitate access to the protected elements. Thanks to this, high effectiveness of detergents during washing and disinfection is maintained, as well as proper penetration of the sterilizing agent during the sterilization process. The silicone from which the caps are made is neutral to the protected instruments, regardless of the material they are made of. Various versions of the caps are available: transparent or colored. Blade protection can therefore also serve as an additional element facilitating instrument identification. The varied color options also speed up the selection of the appropriate cap size and make it easier to locate the cap, for example if it becomes lost among layers of textiles or surgical linen. The outer edges of all protective caps are shaped in such a way as to minimize the risk of damaging the sterilization packaging.
