HELIX Test - PCD Set

Helix PCD Control Device (also known as the Helix test) consists of a long (150 cm) plastic tube simulating the structure of complex medical instruments and accessories. The tube ends with a capsule, in which a type II chemical sterilization indicator is placed.

The test substance changes color only if steam at the correct temperature passes through the entire length of the tube and acts long enough on the indicator.
A positive test result (color change from red/pink to green) confirms the sterilizing agent’s ability to penetrate the most difficult-to-reach parts of the instruments and create proper process conditions in those areas.

Helix PCD Test simulates hard-to-reach tubular instruments used in dentistry and ophthalmology. It allows evaluation of whether instruments with such shapes have been exposed to the sterilizing agent in the most inaccessible areas.

Helix PCD STERIM Test is made of plastic and can be used no more than 250 times. Before inserting the chemical indicator into the capsule, the device should be dry and cooled. It is also necessary to check for any mechanical damage.
