Chemical Type 4 Test Strips for Ethylene Oxide Sterilization
Type 4 strip tests for ethylene oxide respond to the critical parameters of the sterilization process using pure ethylene oxide or its gas mixtures. They are designed for temperatures ranging from 25°C to 60°C, with a process time of 2 to 5 hours. The indicators can be used in all EO gas sterilizers.
The full test size is 1.5 cm x 18.9 cm. After dividing into two parts, the dimensions are 1.5 cm x 9.45 cm. Information about the test type is printed on each indicator and on the bulk packaging in accordance with the standards.
How to Use and Read Ethylene Oxide Sterilization Tests
If representative test packs are not used in the control procedure, the 104.230.0250 indicator must be used not only in each cycle but also inside every sterilized pack. Place the chemical indicator inside the package intended for sterilization. Load the sterilizer according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and run the sterilization cycle. After the process is finished, read the test result. If the sterilization cycle was performed correctly, the color should change from red to yellow.
