MesaLabs Ampouled Rapid-Read Biological Indicators

Biological indicators are the most reliable method for sterilization monitoring. They are used for regular periodic verification of process effectiveness and are mandatory for sterilizing highly demanding materials (e.g., implants) and after sterilizer maintenance.

The offered kits allow the entire test to be conducted in-house, without the need for an external laboratory. The test contains bacteria inoculated on a strip placed inside a thermoplastic tube. Inside the tube, there is also an ampoule with a specially prepared BI culture medium. After removing the test from the sterilizer chamber (after the sterilization process), crushing the internal ampoule mixes the medium with the bacteria-inoculated strip.

Optimal conditions for potential bacterial growth are ensured by the advanced Smart-well incubator, equipped with incubation documentation functionality. In the event of a failed test, spore growth can be observed as early as the 3rd hour of incubation. The final result can be read on the Smart-well device after 5 hours.
